Manager of Global Consumer Trends & Futuring at Ford Motor Company
For over a decade, Sheryl Connelly has served as the in-house futurist for Ford Motor Company. Her role is to identify and analyze global consumer trends to aid long-term planning and strategy across the entire company, including design, product development, and corporate strategy and help anticipate and predict the needs and desires of consumers. Skilled at identifying what’s coming around the corner, Ms. Connelly outlines how to develop a futuring mindset, to act decisively in high-stakes business environments. Fast Company magazine named her one of the “100 Most Creative People in Business,” and TechWeek listed her among its “Top 100 Innovators”. Her strategic viewpoints have been published in The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Financial Times, and the BBC. She has been profiled in Automotive News, Forbes, and Edmunds, along with television appearances on CBS’ This Morning with Charlie Rose, CNBC’s Fast Money, and NPR’s All Things Considered with Robert Siegel.
Dwight served 20 years as Manager of Electrical Engineering, Product Development with APTIV LPC, Infotainment/User Experience Product Group (formerly Delphi Automotive Systems, Electronics/Safety), managing development for automotive applications such as XM and Sirius satellite receivers, automotive navigation, rear-seat entertainment, telematics and most recently, vehicle-to-vehicle/infrastructure modules and Driver Monitoring. His 43-year electronics engineering career includes RCA, AT&T Technologies, and Allison Transmission Division of GM. Dwight holds a BSEE (Purdue University) and an Executive MBA (Indiana University). Dwight also serves technical forums/committees in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Dr. Royston Jones is the Global CTO, Altair Consultancy and Managing Director of Altair’s operation in the United Kingdom and Ireland. For over thirty years, Dr Jones has been involved in the application of CAE methods to produce design innovation. He has been responsible for the development of optimization processes to inject innovation into Body-in-White design with a particular focus on the Concept Development Phase. Recently, his focus has been leading the development of cutting-edge solutions for e-PWT, pioneering initial studies on e-motors and optimizing the multi-attribute performance of battery module / packs. He is a Fellow at both the Institutions of Mechanical and Civil Engineers in the UK and an Honorary Professor at University of Swansea.
